Nutcracker in a Nutshell

An Abridged Rendition of the Classic Holiday Ballet
On Christmas Eve night, the Silberhaus family invite their friends over for a grand holiday party. Surprised by a visit from the strange Uncle Drosselmeyer, they are entertained by dancing mechanical dolls and exciting gifts, none more important than the wooden Nutcracker gifted to young Clara. After everyone else has gone to bed, Clara returns to check on her Nutcracker, only to encounter a fierce battle between the Mouse King’s mice and the Nutcracker’s toy soldiers come to life. Having defeated the Mouse King, Clara and the Nutcracker set off on a journey through a frozen pine forest while snowflakes and snow drops dance around them, led by the Snow Queen and King. Arriving in the Kingdom of Sweets, Clara is treated to a grand celebration with confections from around the world: chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China, candy canes from Russia, and many more sweet surprises. Her journey ends with one final dance between the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Clara awakens to find her wooden Nutcracker by her side and is left to wonder if it was all truly just a dream…

Spring Show 2022

The 2022 Spring Concert featured a one-act performance of Coppelia followed by a selection of jazz, tap, and modern pieces.
