STUDIO SCOOP

September Newsletter 2022

9/7/2022

Welcome back to dance! We look forward to a great year ahead with all of our students and we, especially, welcome those who are new to CBA. We ask all CBA families to remain considerate of others at the studio by following Fairfax County protocols regarding COVID. Notify the front desk of any exposures or infections. Students who are not vaccinated should continue to mask in classes and/or rehearsals. We thank you for understanding.

We hope that all of you enjoyed your summer vacation! The following BAE dancers finished the CBA Summer Intensive Program with an exciting trip to NY City: Nooshon Farhadi, Caelan Hagopian, Ana Levi, Isabella Mansapit, Caitlin Murray and Lourdes Price. The dancers took classes at the famed Steps on Broadway Studio, attending classes taught by former members of world renowned ballet companies; as well as, top Broadway choreographers! Another highlight of the trip was seeing “Moulin Rouge” at the Hirschfeld Theatre. We thank Casey Hagopian and Caitlin Murray for chaperoning and we are extremely proud of our dancers!

The Ballet Arts Ensemble will present an annual Fall Dance Concert on Sunday, October 30th at 3:00 p.m., at the Ernst Community Cultural Center, NOVA, Annandale Campus. This performance is a must-see for all CBA families! Included in the program will be a new ballet “Amelia’s Waltz”, choreographed this summer by Artistic Director, Dustin Kimball. Co-Director, Debra Savage will restage her “Valse Triste” for the Jr. Ensemble and “DeLovely”, choreographed by Richard Rholdon, for the BAE. Newly formed BATJE (Ballet Arts Tap & Jazz Ensemble), will debut at this Fall Concert! Tickets for the Fall Dance Concert are $20 at CBA, ($24 at the door.)

Auditions for Nutcracker In A Nutshell 2022,  will be held on Sunday, October 16th. All students interested in performing must audition, (no exceptions), at the designated time for their level. (BAE members and BAE Apprentices need not audition.) Save the Date – More information will be provided in October!
A reminder that tuition is due the first of each month, and should be remitted by the tenth of the month. A $10 late fee will be added after October 10th. It is suggested to use the Auto-Pay Option for tuition, in order to avoid late fee charges. See the front desk for more information.
We hope that everyone enjoys getting back to dance classes this month!
