ABOUT
The Center for Ballet Arts (CBA) is Northern Virginia’s premier dance studio for all ages. CBA offers a wide variety of dance training which includes Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Tap, Jazz, and Pilates. Classes are available for the 3-4 year old in Kinderballet to the Adult Dance programs. Intensive programs are offered for serious dance students, and classes are designed to promote strength, flexibility, and technique. The Center for Ballet Arts is located in Fairfax, VA, with three spacious air-conditioned studios complete with professional sprung floors.

MISSION |
The mission of The Center for Ballet Arts is to provide a well- rounded curriculum and a pleasant and encouraging environment for dance training for those who dance for the exercise or for the love of dance to those dancing at the professional level.

HISTORY |
The Center for Ballet Arts, now in its 30th year, was founded by Benn and Debra Savage in 1992. It is home to the resident performing companies the Ballet Arts Ensemble of Fairfax and the Ballet Arts Junior Ensemble.
The Center has produced professional dancers from international companies including The Mark Morris Dance Group, and local companies such as The Washington Opera, Bowen McCauley Dance, and Dancin’ Unlimited Jazz Dance Company. CBA has sent dancers to many prestigious summer programs; eight students have attended the Virginia Governor’s School, other programs include Jacobs Pillow, Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, School of American Ballet (NYC Ballet School), Boston Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, Pittsburg Ballet Theatre, The Rock School and many others. CBA was a member of the Southeast Regional Ballet Association (SERBA) from 2001- 2011 and is a founding member of the Virginia Dance Coalition (VDC). For 14 consecutive years CBA received the Best of Fairfax award in the category of dance education. |
