In 1993, Benn and Debra Savage had a vision for a performing company that would develop young dancers through the art of performing, fulfilling dreams and aspirations, and promoting an appreciation of the arts in Northern Virginia. The Ballet Arts Ensemble (BAE), a troupe of twelve dancers, was born. Now, twenty-eight seasons later, more than 40 young teens and adults carry on that mission. CBA Ballet Master, Dustin Kimball, will serve as Artistic Director of the BAE, along with Administrative Director, Debra Savage for the 2021-2022 season. The goals of the BAE were established after determining what they wanted the BAE to accomplish, what best supports the BAE’s artistic standards and provides opportunities for civic outreach while enhancing the opportunities for both Ensemble and other aspiring dancers. The BAE has supported many worthwhile causes throughout the years. Most recently, the BAE performed at Curefest 2019, to help raise funds for childhood cancer research. For the past three years, the BAE has performed for Autumn Remembrance Day, supporting Helping Hearts thru the Arts (HHA) with their fundraisers for ALS.
